Opening After COVID-19

Life is full of difficulties but how we adapt to those challenges is what truly makes the difference. Since March 2020 the world has had to face numerous challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While facing normal day-to-day struggles, we’ve had a giant virus hanging over our heads, effecting how we conduct every piece of our lives.

While cities have been opening back up, it’s interesting to see some of the ways companies have been doing so. By reflecting we can learn from mistakes others have made, and hopefully create healthy environments moving forward. Many communities didn’t take the necessary precautions upfront, and are now facing those repercussions.

Community Associations Institute recently published a document to aid in the protocol of reopening communities. Some of their recommendations included;

1.    Communicating regularly and appropriately with homeowners

2.    Protecting common areas

3.    Preventing the spread in pools, hot tubs, and playgrounds

4.    Maintaining safe business operations

These are just a few of their recommendations, visit their site for a full list of ways to protect your community.

On May 7th, 2020 the CDC gave guidance for cleaning and disinfecting public places, workplaces, businesses, schools and homes. They also recommended before opening to develop a plan. You’ll implement and maintain this plan of action before and during your weeks of opening. It’s important to remember, you’ll need to revise, and stick to your plan for the safety of your community.
