#FRONTSTEPSFamily

Legacy knowledge at a software company is critical. Products are iterated on quickly so having someone like Justin Lodigkeit on a team makes all the difference. “Justin has the most combined knowledge of all of our products,” said Shawn Beeson, FRONTSTEPS Director of Engineering. But that’s not all.  Read on for more about our uber-collaborative software engineer!

What’s the best part about working at FRONTSTEPS? Why?

The people. I love the people I get to work with on a daily basis, they make all the difference in making work feel less like “work.”

Tell us a little about you . You’re from the Denver area. How has Denver changed?  And what do you love about Colorado and what can we find you doing on weekends?

I have lived in Denver since I was 2 years old and grew up in Littleton. Denver has expanded tremendously since I’ve been here. There used to be open fields and dirt lots where there are now apartment complexes, malls, etc. I love that Denver is the best of both worlds: warm summers, cold winters, and a vacation escape to the mountains whenever you want it.  I love to bowl, play guitar, watch movies, play video games, hang with friends. On weekends I am doing one or many of those things. Family is very important to me, I spend time with my family at least once a week to keep up.

How did you end up in this line of work?

I went to college to do Network Engineering, ended up being a business analyst for 3 years. I realized by working directly with software engineers that I would enjoy the engineering side more than the business side. I like building things and seeing people use and enjoy them.

What special skills do you bring to the FRONTSTEPS Family?

I am a full stack developer that can pick up pretty much whatever you want to throw at me, if I don’t already know it I will put in the effort needed to learn it. I can help design, development, and since I have business experience I can also help product. I have a full understanding of the product development lifecycle from multiple points of view which gives me an advantage.

“Other developers look to Justin as an example because of his attitude, communication style, his willingnesss to help others and his ability to dive into whatever is thrown at him with full effort,” added Beeson.
