December Release Notes for FRONTSTEPS Secure and Community

Our team is constantly making improvements to our software platforms. From fixing bugs to adding enhancements, our engineers are working behind the scenes to make the software you use on a daily basis more convenient and powerful.

These release notes are a way to keep our customers in the loop on what we’ve been working on, and what updates they can expect to see in the software platform. The following updates were released into production this month.

FRONTSTEPS Secure

In case you didn’t hear the big news, we have launched our first beta customer on our new credentialed access and visitor management platform, FRONTSTEPS Secure. Our team recently launched the following enhancements on this new platform:

Reporting without Hardware

Our reports now include entries processed using the manual check-in button or zebra scanner, giving customers one report to capture all activity, both hardware and non-hardware related. This enables customers to see all activity in their community whether it was initiated through a reader or a manual check-in with a guard at a manned gate or entrance.

DoorKing Telephone Entry System (TES)

We have completed the first phase of the integration with DoorKing’s telephone entry system (TES), allowing customers to setup TES in their communities for visitor entry. This enables communities with unmanned entry points to have a visitor management hardware solution without having to install an access control system.

DoorKing marks our second telephone entry integration, as we also integrate with Kantech’s TES.

FRONTSTEPS Community

We are hard at work building a seamless integration between FRONTSTEPS Secure and our community management platform. In an effort to create an exceptional user experience for residents, we have added a link in the Community mobile app to FRONTSTEPS Secure. While we don’t yet have a Secure mobile app, the platform is mobile responsive, providing residents an excellent experience no matter what type of device they arrive on.

TOPS Updates

For customers using TOPS accounting software, they can now see more details around specific charges, which are pulled directly from TOPS. To view this information, click to the Financials tab.

In an effort to provide a more accurate data sync between TOPS and FRONTSTEPS, email addresses updated in FRONTSTEPS will now show up in TOPS.
